If you are connecting to different computers with different accounts or you change your shell too much because of your work sometimes you can lost track of your shell. If you need to find your current shell:
1.
$>ps
PID TTY TIME CMD
24620 pts/14 00:00:00 tcsh
20395 pts/14 00:00:00 ps

You can see your shell as a running process.

or
2.
$> echo $0
-tcsh

Will show you the current shell you are using.
