EFE & ZEYBEK "Zeybek" is the famous form of dance played by Turkish Aegean warriors, called "Efe". Efe is the name given to Turkish warriors living in West Anatolia (Aegean region). You can also see them in west portions of Middle Anatolia and Mediterranen region. Efes were first used as the security officers at the times of Sejukis. In the Ottomans, they were mostly living in the heights, taking from the rude, delivering to the needy. During Turkish Independence War, after WWI, they played a very crucial role. Kuvay-i Milliye (National Forces) was formed on top of Efe gangs.
