if you have more than one soundcard and you select one of card to use for multimedia applications.

first list your soundcard

asoundconf list
Names of available sound cards:
Intel
Headset

and you select one of to use

asoundconf set-default-card Intel

or

asoundconf set-default-card Headset

Note: execute theese commands needs root privileges
